This work grew out of my reserch about the ephesian Artemis. I visited variuos sancuaries where she was worshiped and discovered more than one aspect of her. She appeared to exist in a threefoldedness not only typical with her but also with other ancient greec godesses: these aspects are virginity, fertility and transcendence. These aspects can also be observed with Demeter. Her decendants are probably coming forth from natural religions as landscape godesses who where ancored in triangular form within a certain landscape and where differing in colour: the white, the red and the black godess.

A threefolded aspekt of life can be found in the life of every human being. Being born he/she is entering the stream of life, maturating into midlife and by the by withdraws from the physical body until with death leaves his mortal remains. Even the seasonal changes of nature are mirroring the various periods of life by the changing moods and colors of the year.

The complexity of my reserch is shining through in my work. The cosmic and the terestrial sphere is indicated by dobbelexposures and got different colours. The center of this work is created by a triptych acompanied on both sides by the images of the four elements of which all life consists.

My shadow is appearing two times in this work creating a link to my own life but at the same time it is a philosophical reflexion on all life as such.
